THE BEGINNING

I didn't always
show up like this.

For years I kept my ambitions quiet and my real opinions even quieter. I was the one who over-explained, under-charged, and shrunk myself in every room to make other people comfortable. I thought that was what being professional meant. It wasn't. It was fear with a polished finish.

Then one completely ordinary Tuesday morning, I read back through years of my own journals and barely recognised the person writing them. Someone who apologised for having ideas. Someone who asked for permission to want big things. And I thought: enough.

Smart & Pretty started as a journal entry and became a business, a podcast, a community — and honestly, a kind of therapy. A place to share every chapter of building something real, including the ugly parts the highlight reel always leaves out.
